Compare scanners: Canon Lide 90 @ $49 with HP G3010 @ $99.? - compare flatbed scanners

I need to buy a flatbed scanner to scan old family photos (B & W and color) and small works of art, I've done. It seems that the Canon Lide 90 @ $ 49 and HP G3010 @ $ 99 should do the job (I have Windows 98 SE), but can someone tell me why the big price difference? Is it useful to get the HP scanner? These scanners are good? I appreciate all the information you will be able to offer you! Thank you!
